“I attended the Northern Ballet School summer course before auditioning. It was a thoroughly enjoyable way to experience what the full-time professional dance training would be like, ahead of applying. The classes were fantastic and the teachers were friendly, both of which assured me that it would be the right place for me to complete my 3-year Diploma in Dance training, which I am graduating from this year.”

“Coming to summer school in 2023 was such an incredible experience for me. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere at NBS was so refreshing, I knew it was the place for me. The teachers created such a positive, supportive, and encouraging environment that made me feel comfortable straight away.
I remember leaving the experience knowing I had to audition. The energy, the standard of the training, and seeing how invested the teachers were in their work made it an easy decision.
Choosing to audition and then train here afterwards has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It has both pushed me technically and helped me grow in confidence both as a dancer and as an individual. I’m eternally grateful for the opportunities and development I’ve experienced since that summer school.
NBS summer school is a brilliant insight into what training here is like, both in terms of the work ethic and the supportive environment that comes with it. Even for those who may not be looking to train here, it’s still such an enjoyable and rewarding experience. It’s a chance to challenge yourself, meet new people and build on your self-confidence.”

“I am currently in my second year at Northern Ballet, and I have such wonderful memories of attending the Summer School before becoming a full-time student.
These courses gave me an invaluable insight into life at Northern Ballet and the expectations placed on students. They helped me understand the level of structure, discipline, and commitment required to become the best dancer I can be, as well as the wide variety of dance styles and opportunities available.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the courses was the connections I made with other students who shared the same passion for dance. It was incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by like-minded people.
The teachers are amazing at making you feel comfortable and supported. They clearly explain and demonstrate movements and footwork, creating an encouraging and positive learning environment.
There truly is no better place to experience what dance is all about.”

“I attended Northern Ballet School’s summer intensive and immediately felt at ease upon entering the building. The atmosphere was both welcoming and professional, creating an environment in which students can thrive. The tutors were exceptionally knowledgeable of the industry and so supportive, demonstrating a genuine commitment to inspiring and developing the next generation of dancers. This positive and encouraging experience played a significant role in my decision to pursue my training here at Northern Ballet School.”
