Lucy Glassbrook
Senior Lecturer in Movement
Lucy is a Movement Director, Intimacy Director and choreographer from the Midlands. Her work is grounded in physical storytelling and movement languages to enable character creation and embodiment through devising in a consent-based, inclusive practice.
She is particularly inspired by collaborating with other creatives to create embodied ensemble movement, shared histories and physical relationships, in order to drive performance narratives, strengthening the actors' portrayal and connection to character. She has a master's degree in Movement Directing and Teaching from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and has trained and worked professionally as an actor and dancer. This allows her to focus on the actor's journey through physical character, specialising in Laban, Animal Studies and ensemble devising to embolden performances and drive narrative.
As an educator, she welcomes an open and communicative room to create a safe environment for exploration and play. Focusing on the importance of actors understanding where their body is and how they can use their physical past to transform and expand the physical skills centre.
