Essex Campus acting students celebrate first graduate shows

17 June, 2026

Performers College congratulates Essex’s L6 BA Acting for Stage, Screen and Digital Media students on their run of Enron, the first final year acting show to come from our Rayleigh campus.

Debuting in 2009, with runs in London’s West end and then on Broadway, The Tony award nominated show Enron by Lucy Prebble draws on the real-life collapse of the American energy giant to explore themes of greed, deception and corporate culture, giving the students plenty of opportunity to demonstrate what they’ve learned in their three years at Performers College.

The shows were performed at the Brentwood Theatre, Essex and directed by Ewa Dina, with movement direction by Theophilus O. Bailey and set and costume design by Raphaé Memon.

Jonathan Laikewood, Course Leader, said:

“Couldn’t be prouder of our first graduating year from the BA Acting for Stage, Screen and Digital Media course at Performers College Essex. The students took on the hugely challenging and important play in Enron and executed it stunningly.”

Emma Farrell, who portrayed the lead role of Jeff Skilling, said:

“As someone about to graduate, getting to work with professionals from the industry meant so much to me. There’s something really special about being thrown into different ways of working before you’ve even left training — it makes you so much more ready for whatever comes next. But honestly, the biggest thing I’m taking away from this is confidence. I feel like I actually know what to expect now, what a professional rehearsal room feels like, and what’s going to be asked of me as an actor.”

Congratulations to all the students, our visiting creative professionals, and our in-house production team for all their work in bringing Enron to life.
