Katie Ritson
Deputy Course Leader - Musical Theatre
Originally from Accrington, Katie is the Deputy Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre programme at Performers College Manchester. She holds an MMus in Popular Music Performance (Singing) from the Royal Northern College of Music. She currently teaches classes in singing technique, ensemble singing, and musicianship at the Manchester campus, as well as working as Musical Director on in-house projects, third-year performances, and agent showcases.
Her Musical Director credits include The Final Curtain (2025), Best Musical Ever? (2025), Les Misérables (2025), Yerma (2024), Red Noses (2024), Into the Woods (2023), Little Shop of Horrors (2022), Big Time! (2022), and I See Stars (2021).
Katie is passionate about helping individuals develop their own voices in a healthy and sustainable way. She is committed to creating a safe space for students to engage in in-depth exploration of their voices, equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in the ever-changing performing arts industry.
She also has a wealth of experience as a performer, including television appearances on Songs of Praise (2025, CTVC), Lent Worship (BBC, 2021), and Pentecost Worship (BBC, 2020). In addition, she has numerous national and local radio credits, along with an extensive catalogue of live performance and recording work.
An ardent singer-songwriter and arranger, Katie is currently completing an album of her original songs, which is due for release in the near future.
